EAS Citizenship and Sustainability Program for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME)
Environmental Assessment Specialists, Inc. has been practicing Citizenship and Sustainability (C&S) since the company’s inception back in 1998. As an environmental compliance consulting firm, we make it our business to always be conscious of keeping our environmental footprint as small as humanly possible. Our company’s low-overhead, cost conscious business model has been very successful for the past 18 years. Unlike our competitors, EAS focuses its resources on personnel and internal communication to produce a high output service with quality and timing at a fair price.
EAS maintains a clause in or Standard Independent Contractor agreement that, also, helps keep our Team partners successful in this area which includes the requirements to follow Labor Practices including Freedom of Association, Human Rights and Environmental Health & Safety. EAS has been and will always be committed to:
o Creating long-term financial value
o Understanding how our actions affect the natural environment and try to reduce our impacts
o See our ties to others and contribute to positive social change.
As a small business, we take pride in our actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reducing waste, unnecessary energy, fuel and other inputs in the following ways:
>> Teleconference/Telecommute rather than traveling to meet face-to-face whenever possible reducing hydrocarbon emissions, but it, also, significantly lowers travel costs and associated employee “dead time’ spent in a car. The environment benefits from fewer cars on the road and reduces the need for expensive office space.
>> Work to limit our energy consumption by using energy-efficient lighting products in our home offices as well as adjusting Thermostats, using day lighting, unplugging equipment and turning off computers which helped cut our energy consumption and costs.
>> Conserving water consumption due to California’s significant draught in the last several years by following our area’s water consumption requirements and using water conserving appliances.
>> Office recycling programs in place for paper, plastics, metal and batteries.
